Just when you think you have seen a giveaway for all occasions out of no where comes Mr Matco's Autumn Event. From the title it would seem that it is just about autumn, but once you land on the page you will quickly notice that Mr Matco is a hunter.
I have nothing against hunting and even eating some dead animals. After all you have to admit that Bambi is pretty tasty. Although I doubt any succulent cut of meat could compare to what this event has in store for you.

Quick Answer: They are all worth way more than most marketers give them credit for.
Long Answer:
We have always heard the saying that a picture is worth a thousand
words. As people we are visual creatures. We like to see things and
take them in. This is why a picture of your success and even your
accounts can be so convincing. We can picture that being our own.
A lot of times marketers will discuss sales copy, wording of
advertisements, and page layout. However we often over look images. The
simply placing of an image can take your customer out of the buying
mood while getting on a deeper level it can almost control the choice
they are going to make.
For example placing all your negative images in one side while placing
all your positive images on the other can subconsciously sway your
readers choice. Making the left side full of images of what they would
like to experience and the right full of what they fear the worst, it
makes your decision on where to put the (desired outcome) button.
Associating only good with that side makes it the obvious choice.
Hint: Grey pictures always look more gloomy
This is a technique used in interviewing and making real life sales.
When you give the negatives about alternatives you always walk to the
darker more gloomy part of the room. When you are talking about the
advantages of your product (your sale), you walk to the more brighter
side of the room that is colorful and calming. When you make the final
pitch (call to action) you of course want to be in the most bright
calming part.
Testimonials and reviews are a few things that are taken to lightly. A testimonial / review is in no way a sales pitch.
When people look at testimonials and reviews they are more at ease. It
takes them off the defense and calms them down. After all they are
simply reading what others have thought about the product and how it
has made an impact on their lives.
They are not looking to be sold to. They are simply trying to make
their decision. Your sales letter can be 50,000 words long but a 50
word testimonial can carry more sales power. The good feeling about
hearing that it worked for them makes the person feel that they could
have the same results. It gives the person what everybody who is in
need of something craves... hope.
As marketers you have to have a certain amount of a concourse when
going about our daily work. The above examples are sort of a taste of
NLP (Neuro Linguistics Programming). It is how every person is hard
wired. There is a degree of psychology to making sales.
As with anything you do in life you want to make the right decision. By
no means should you ever use anything you learn to put people in a
situation you would not like being in yourself.
